Project Notes: Rugby Town House Ensuite
The Brief:
For this Rugby town house ensuite, the client wanted a characterful and highly individual bathroom that would feel both traditional and contemporary. The aim was to create a practical ensuite with generous storage, premium showering and carefully considered details, while also introducing colour, pattern and personality. Rather than choosing a plain neutral scheme, the client wanted the room to feel decorative and distinctive, with rich tones, brushed brass finishes and beautifully made bespoke furniture.
The Design:
Eat Soak Sleep designed this ensuite around a bold combination of handcrafted painted furniture, natural marble tiles and statement botanical wallpaper. The vanity area became a key focal point, with bespoke painted furniture in a deep plum tone, solid oak dovetail drawer boxes and elegant brushed brass handles. The quartz worktop includes a bespoke upstand and an undermounted basin, giving the vanity a refined and practical finish. The curved detail to the upstand softens the look, while the round illuminated mirror brings light and balance to the darker, more dramatic wallcovering behind.
The shower area was finished with natural marble tiles and brushed brass detailing, continuing the elegant tone of the space. A brass-framed shower enclosure, rainfall shower head, electric towel bar and coordinated brass fittings create a consistent finish throughout. A recessed shower niche adds useful storage while keeping the shower area clean and uncluttered.
Modern comfort was also an important part of the design. The room includes a smart toilet, electric underfloor heating, LVT Karndean flooring and a Zuma integrated lighting and speaker system with Alexa, giving the ensuite a strong sense of comfort as well as style.
The Result:
This Rugby Town House Ensuite is a striking, personality-filled space that combines traditional craftsmanship with modern convenience. The deep painted furniture, natural marble, brushed brass finishes and bold botanical wallpaper create a boutique-style ensuite with real character. The finished room feels rich, elegant and thoughtfully detailed, while still offering the practical storage, comfort and usability needed for everyday life.
