Project Notes: Willoughby Farm House Master Bedroom
The Brief:
Our clients at Willoughby Farm House wanted a beautifully organised master bedroom dressing space that would feel practical, elegant and full of character. The aim was to create generous fitted storage for clothing, shoes and accessories, while maintaining a warm feel in congruence with the style of the Farmhouse home.
Rather than a standard walk-in wardrobe arrangement, this bedroom design needed to feel more personal and crafted, with open storage, painted furniture, thoughtful detailing and a luxurious sense of everyday usability.
The Design:
For this Willoughby master bedroom project, Eat Soak Sleep designed bespoke handcrafted fitted furniture with a rich painted finish, warm wood interiors and carefully considered open wardrobe sections. The result is a highly practical dressing area with hanging rails, open shelving, shoe storage and deep drawer storage, all tailored to the client’s daily routine.
The cabinetry features decorative cornice and skirting details, tongue and groove panels, solid oak dovetail drawer boxes and aged brass ironmongery, giving the room a traditional, furniture-like quality. Hendel & Hendel aged brass handles add a refined finishing touch, complementing the warm red painted cabinetry and creating a timeless farmhouse feel.
Open shelving allows clothing and accessories to remain easy to access, while feature lighting helps brighten the wardrobe interiors and adds a soft, welcoming glow. The window seat and shoe storage make practical use of the central window area, while the full-height mirror and open wardrobe layout help the room feel both functional and beautifully considered.
The Result:
This Willoughby Farm House master bedroom shows how bespoke bedroom furniture can turn storage into a standout design feature. By combining open wardrobes, painted cabinetry, warm wood shelving, solid oak drawers, aged brass details and tailored shoe and clothing storage, Eat Soak Sleep created a master bedroom dressing space that feels organised, characterful and perfectly suited to the farmhouse setting.
